PSHE/RSE

At SBSP, we use the Ealing PSHE Scheme to teach Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Education and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). The scheme provides a comprehensive, progressive and inclusive curriculum that supports children’s personal development, wellbeing and understanding of the world around them.

Through weekly lessons, children develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to stay healthy, safe and prepared for life both now and in the future. Learning promotes emotional wellbeing, resilience, positive relationships, diversity and inclusion, and equips pupils with the confidence to make informed and responsible choices.

Teaching approaches are varied and engaging, using discussion, reflection, collaborative activities and age-appropriate scenarios to ensure learning is meaningful and accessible for all pupils. Lessons are carefully adapted to meet the needs of individual classes and recognise that every child is unique.

The Ealing PSHE Scheme is structured to provide clear progression from Nursery through to Year 6, revisiting key themes and building upon prior learning as children mature and develop. The curriculum covers three core areas:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Relationships
  • Living in the Wider World

Relationships and Sex Education is taught as part of this programme in an age-appropriate and sensitive manner, in line with statutory guidance. We believe that PSHE and RSE play a vital role in enabling our children to understand themselves and others, develop positive relationships and grow into confident, respectful and responsible members of society.

Rooted in our Christian vision and values, our PSHE curriculum encourages all children to nurture, grow and flourish, fulfilling their unique potential.
